Road Closure Notice 2

ICUMBRIA COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(2)
URGENT ROAD CLOSURE
C1008, PENTON, CUMBRIA (NY 343727, 577120)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out winter damage works it is necessary to close: -

C1008, PENTON – from a point 300 metre North East from its junction with the B6318, Penton House extending in a North Easterly direction for approximately 300 metres.

The closure will take effect from Monday 04TH July 2011 and will apply only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, subject to a maximum of 5 days.
The closure will remain in force until such time that it is deemed safe for the travelling public, though it is anticipated that the winter damage works will be completed in 5 days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

North-Eastbound Vehicles

From the South West side of the closure proceed along the C1008 in a South Easterly direction for approximately 300 metres to its junction with the B6318, Penton House. Turn left onto the B6318 and proceed in a South Easterly direction for approximately 920 metres to its junction with the C1007.
Turn left onto the C1007 and proceed in a North Easterly then North Westerly direction for approximately 2.3 kilometres to its junction with the C1008, The Old Vicarage. Turn left onto the C1008 and proceed in a South Westerly direction for approximately 2.3 kilometres to the end of the diversion route.
South-Westbound Vehicles
Travel in the reverse direction of the above.
